See if there are any hypnobirthing classes in your area, they teach you so much about how to have a baby naturally and nearly pain free.

I’ve done it twice. For my first I took The Bradley method classes and spent several hours of my labor it water. It was a wonderful experience.

My second child was born at home in the water.

I’d have another homebirth if we ever got pregnant again.

I would definitely do natural childbirth again! It was the hardest yet most rewarding thing I’ve done!
I would try to get a doula if you can. They are labour support coaches that are experts on pain management and natural birth. Try and get a labour room with a shower or bath because hot water on the lower back really helps. There will be a time when you will ask for drugs…make sure you have a deal with whoever is supporting you. They tell you that you have to get though two more contractions before the drugs…I didn’t end up asking again. It hurts but don’t be scared because it will make it worse and labour will slow done. You have to just give into the pain and go with it, don’t fight it. When it’s over you will forget the pain almost instantly and within a week you’ll think it wasn’t so bad..haha.
If for some reason you can’t have a natural birth don’t feel bad. Doctors are there to help when things get really bad or dangerous, it doesn’t make you any less of a good mom if you get an epidural.
Congrats and good luck.

Did it a week ago , first time mom using the bradly method. I am 5 feet and had an 8 pound baby with a pitocin drip to make contractions last longer. No screams, and my husband was a excellent coach. The contractions re the worst , but they do not last long. I was afraid of the pushing part, it only took about 20 min, and I felt no pain just pressure. I called everyone myself right after, used the restroom, and felt great!
